Notes library
Browse, search, upload, and download study documents shared by students, organized by school and course.
The heart of uNotes is a shared library of real study materials — past exams, assignments, labs, and lecture notes — organized by school and course.
Browsing by school and course
The Schools directory lists universities and colleges with shared study materials. Open your school to see its courses, and open a course to see every document students have shared for it.
Searching
The search bar on the home page and the Search page find documents by course, school, or topic.
Search also looks inside documents: the "in documents" results match the actual text content of uploaded files (including scanned documents, which uNotes reads with OCR), with highlighted snippets showing where your search terms appear. Content search engages when your query has at least two meaningful words.
Uploading documents
Uploading is free on every plan — your uploads grow the shared library.
- Start an upload from the site header or your document library.
- Pick the file and assign it to a school and course.
- uNotes processes the file automatically: it validates the upload, extracts the text (OCR for scanned pages), and generates a thumbnail.
- Once processing finishes, the document appears in the course and becomes searchable.
Per-file size limits depend on your plan: 50 MB on Free, 150 MB on Premium, 300 MB on Pro.
If you upload a file that already exists in the library (byte-identical), uNotes detects the duplicate instead of storing a second copy.
Downloading
Signed-in users can download documents. The Free plan includes 3 downloads per day; Premium and Pro have unlimited downloads. See Plans and pricing.
Comments
Documents support comments, so you can ask questions or leave context for other students studying the same material.
